Class Exercise: Situating an Image in Its Context(s)
- Pick one poster from DIVEDCO that interests you. You can find one in Biblioteca Digital Puertorriqueña, or also via Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
- Take a few minutes to really look at the image. Read any caption/descriptive text provided.
- What questions could you ask that would help you place this image in a context (historical, political, social, or otherwise)? Write down at least three questions you could ask.
- Pick one of these questions. Try to find a source that will help you answer, or at least more thoughtfully consider, your question. Refer to the resources provided in the research guide, including in the Primary Sources, Articles, and/or Books tabs, to help you try and locate a source.
