SOCI 3750: How Race Gets Under Our Skin: The Sociology of Race, Health, and Biomedicine

Prof. Amy Zhou - Spring 2020

Library session outline & resources reviewed

Here is what I hope to talk with your class about during the April 1 session.

Stay in touch with Barnard/Columbia libraries

  • You can still make appointments for virtual or phone research consultations. My calendar is the easiest way to find a time to connect.
  • Please also feel free to email me with questions/concerns.
  • Chat reference for quick questions is another option. Columbia's Ask a Librarian is up and running; you can check those hours here. Barnard's Chat Reference is coming back, too - hours TBD (or just try and see if we're online!) Similar to Ask a Librarian, but all the Barnard staff you know and love.
  • Questions about materials you have checked out? Check out our FAQ (updated often).

Public libraries

If you are not in NYC right now, explore your local public library online options. You are still eligible to apply for NYC public library cards, too.

To find e-books in CLIO

  • Use relevant keywords to search in the CLIO catalog.
  • The Format filter lets you select "Online" and "Book".
