  "The purpose of 1890: A Journal of Undergraduate Research is to provide undergraduate students the opportunity to demonstrate their interests and abilities in various disciplines by accepting works of research, creative writing, poetry, reviews, and art. New Plains Student Publishing uses <1890 to encourage, recognize, and reward intellectual and creative activity beyond the classroom by providing a forum that builds a cohesive academic community."

  "American Journal of Undergraduate Research (AJUR) is a national, independent, peer-reviewed, open-source, quarterly, multidisciplinary student research journal.” Graduate students and faculty are allowed as co-authors. Submissions are accepted anytime.
• Apollon
  Apollon is "an undergraduate ejournal in the humanities focused on producing annual issues of excellent, peer reviewed work from participating colleges and universities across a range of disciplines and embracing the array of intellectual approaches valued by humanistic inquiry. We maintain a broad definition of the humanities by including within our purview English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Music, Theater, History, Classics, Art History, Design, Philosophy, Religion, Peace and Social Justice Studies, Women's Studies, and regional studies, as well as papers from associated disciplines that engage in humanistic forms of inquiry such as qualitative and theoretical work in Psychology, Sociology, and Anthropology, among others."
• Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research
  "The Butler Journal of Undergraduate Research (BJUR) publishes original, scholarly research undertaken by undergraduates from any college or university. BJUR builds upon and strengthens Butler’s commitment to quality undergraduate research by providing an outlet for the publication of outstanding undergraduate scholarship across the humanities, social and natural sciences."

• Consilience: The Journal of Sustainable Development
  "Consilience: The Journal of Sustainable Development is the first student-founded journal of its kind. Its mission is to juxtapose different disciplinary approaches in order to confront challenges of sustainable development in an innovative and creative manner. The field of sustainable development is broad and can encompass a wide variety of topics, related to the environment, economics, politics, and social life. As an interdisciplinary journal, Consilience encourages its contributors to submit articles of relevance to many fields related to the study and practice of sustainable development. It also welcomes articles from students and other authors who have never previously been published in academic journals." Articles may take the following forms: scholarly articles, opinion pieces, field notes, and photo essays.

• Critical Theory and Social Justice Journal of Undergraduate Research, (Occidental College) 
  CTSJ is dedicated to providing a forum for undergraduate students to develop and share critical research and writing on the intersections of "race", "sexuality", and "nationality" as they relate to problems of social justice. The journal seeks to foster exchange of ideas across disciplines and deepen understandings of systems of injustice, and in this way advances the mission of Occidental College: to develop critical, thoughtful, and active participation in an increasingly pluralistic and conflict ridden global culture.

• Crossing Borders: A Multidisciplinary Journal of Undergraduate Scholarship

  "Crossing Borders seeks to encourage research among undergraduate students at Kansas State University and elsewhere. Crossing Borders introduces undergraduates to the processes and values of open-access, peer-reviewed communication, thereby preparing them to be more critical consumers and producers of scholarly discourse.

  "Crossing Borders publishes work in a variety of formats including original case-studies, reports of research or creative activity, book reviews, and field notes. Submissions can be from any scholarly disciplines."

• Discussions
  "Discussions accepts research papers written by current undergraduate students from accredited colleges and universities around the globe. The research can be on any topic, not limited to science or engineering. A student may submit a paper from a class, as long as his/her work presents a new and innovative idea."

• Eleven (University of California, Berkeley)
  The Undergraduate Journal of Sociology publishes excellent sociological papers written by current and recent UC Berkeley undergraduates, as well as undergraduates from across the nation and countries such as Canada and Norway. A student-run publication, the journal provides an academic forum that highlights outstanding scholarship in the social sciences. In the spirit of Marx’s Eleventh Thesis on Feuerbach that mandates one to engender constructive change, the journal offers opportunities for an intellectual space that encourages critical engagement with the world. NOTE: Our own alum, Erin Ward, is featured in Volume 5 of Eleven.

• Forbes & Fifth
  "We accept undergraduate submissions from any accredited university in the world. These submissions can range from research articles/essays to creative writing to visual art and beyond. There is really no limit to what you can submit to Forbes & Fifth.” Published in April and December. Next submission deadline: October 2019.
• Gettysburg Social Sciences Review
  Gettysburg Social Sciences Review is an open access, peer-reviewed, undergraduate research journal that is dedicated to providing a forum for undergraduate students to develop and share critical research and writing in the Social Sciences. We encourage submissions from a wide spectrum of topics relevant to the Social Sciences. The journal seeks to advance the mission of Gettysburg College by fostering exchanges of ideas across disciplines to promote critical thought and active participation while highlighting the academic contributions of undergraduate research.
• Inquiries Journal
  "Inquiries Journal, formerly Student Pulse, is an open-access academic journal that highlights the work of students at the undergraduate level and above. The journal publishes work across a range of academic disciplines with a particular focus on the social sciences, arts, and humanities." Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.
• International Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities
  "International Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities is a peer-reviewed, open access journal dedicated to the publication of outstanding scholarship by undergraduates and their mentors. The Journal accepts submissions of research articles, fiction, poetry, photography, videos, and other creative works from undergraduate students in all academic disciplines." Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis.

• Journal of Integrated Social Sciences (California Lutheran University)
  Journal of Integrated Social Sciences is a web-based, peer-reviewed journal committed to the scholarly investigation of social phenomena. We especially encourage students and their faculty advisors to submit the results of their investigations.

• Journal of Politics and Society (Columbia University)
  The Helvidius Group is a student organization at Columbia University, established in 1989 by Peter Tomassi, CC ’91, to provide a forum for undergraduate discourse on issues concerning law and public policy. The Journal of Politics & Society is the realization of that mission. Originally an annual magazine distributed to Ivy League universities and to members of Congress, it has adopted a more scholarly focus and has grown to encompass all of the social sciences. The Journal is not affiliated with or sponsored by any political organization, and it remains staunchly nonpartisan.

• Journal of Student Research
  "Journal of Student Research (JSR) is a Multidisciplinary and Faculty-reviewed journal devoted to the Rapid Dissemination of current student research. The journal seeks papers that are novel, integrative, and written in a way that is accessible to a wide audience which includes an array of disciplines. The content of the journal ranges from Applied research to Theoretical research. In general, papers are welcomed from all topics."

• Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence
  The Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence "is a journal where undergraduates have an opportunity to publish their own work and showcase their talents in any academic subject. Research, poetry, reviews, and art can be featured side-by-side as a testament to the scholarly power of undergraduate students." Submissions are always accepted.
• Liberated Arts: A Journal for Undergraduate Research (Huron University College)
  "Liberated Arts publishes radical and original student research on a variety of topics, with the aim of helping students participate in our wider academic research community."
• Michigan Journal of History
  "The Michigan Journal of History is a student-run organization seeking to publish undergraduate papers in an online journal and with limited circulation paper copies.  Our aim is to encourage students to pursue their passion for history by providing them a chance to become published historians. Online editions of the journal are published annually near the end of the Winter Semester. Printed copies will be mailed to students whose submissions are accepted for publication."
• Midwest Journal of Undergraduate Research
  "Our mission is to support development of high-quality original undergraduate research, recognize exceptional undergraduate scholarly efforts and accomplishments, and contribute to the undergraduate learning experience. MJUR accepts submissions from all academic fields and from any undergraduate institution, national or international." Submission deadline January 15.
• Perspectives on Undergraduate Research and Mentoring
  "Perspectives on Undergraduate Research and Mentoring (PURM) is an open-access, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed online journal supporting the mission of undergraduate research and the programs that strive to provide undergraduate students opportunities to participate in scholarly activities with faculty mentors. We have moved to a themed-issue format. Each annual issue is typically released in the fall and is centered on a special topic. Please see the Call for Papers for information on the current theme." Submission deadline April 1.

• PURSUE: Undergraduate Research Journal  (Prairie View A&M University)
  "PURSUE: Undergraduate Research Journal provides a platform for undergraduates to share original research. It is essential that undergraduates see their credible research in journal articles. All articles in this journal are peer-reviewed by scientists and/or professionals in the field. The undergraduate student is the first author, while the faculty mentor and all other authors are second, third, etc.

  "Articles are accepted in the broad categories of science, technology, communication, agriculture, mathematics, architecture, engineering, history, political science, health, and education (this is not an exclusive list). It is open to all undergraduates nationally and internationally."

• Queen City Writers

  We seek thought-provoking pieces from any disciplinary perspective that explore questions and problems related to writing, rhetoric, reading, literacy broadly conceived, popular culture and media, community discourses, and multimodal and digital composing. We expect that the work will be informed by critical conversations relevant to the topic–that is, composers should incorporate timely, pertinent research to support claims. In addition, we welcome projects that experiment with form, voice, style, and delivery.
• Reinvention: An International Journal of Undergraduate Research
  "Reinvention is an online, peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to the publication of high-quality undergraduate student research. The journal welcomes academic articles from all disciplinary areas and all universities. All articles undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and refereeing by two or three anonymous referees. Reinvention is published bi-annually and only houses papers written by undergraduate students or papers written collaboratively by undergraduate students and academics."
• Tufts Historical Review
  "The official publication of the Tufts University Department of History, the Tufts Historical Review is one of the leading principally-undergraduate academic journals of history in the United States. Each year, the Tufts Historical Review receives submissions from students at colleges and university across the country. Our journal is sent to libraries at universities across the world, most notably to Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Library of Congress, Cornell University, Georgetown University, and the University of Oxford. We invite you to submit your work to the Editorial Board for review."
• Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research
  The Undergraduate Journal of Service Learning and Community-Based Research is a "refereed, multidisciplinary, online undergraduate journal that will advance knowledge in new scholarly arenas by presenting intellectual and reflective work by undergraduates. We seek undergraduate contributions to the burgeoning academic conversation on service learning and community-based research." Submission deadline June 30.
• Undergraduate Research Journal for the Human Sciences
  "The Undergraduate Research Journal for the Human Sciences (URJHS) is a peer reviewed publication of Kappa Omicron Nu (KON) Honor Society for the Human Sciences.
