First organized in 1960 and chartered by the NYS Education Department in 1962, the Museum Association of New York (MANY) as it exists today is the result of a 2013-2014 merger with the Upstate History Alliance (UHA). The UHA began its life as a member of the Field Service Alliance (FSA), a nationwide organization, and operated under the name of the Regional Council of Historical Societies, and the Federation of Historical Services. This merger successfully created the only statewide museum service organization with more than 700 member museums, historical societies, zoos, botanical gardens, and aquariums.

Established in 1971, the mission of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is to empower artists in all disciplines, as well as cultural workers, to achieve success on their own terms by providing critical support, resources, and opportunities. NYFA envisions a world where artists thrive in the practice and expression of their creative work, a world that celebrates and supports them. Our work centers on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, which is served through four flagship programs: Learning, Awards & Grants, Fiscal Sponsorship, and Online Resources. We serve approximately 1M constituents in person and online, annually.

The New York City Arts in Education Roundtable is a service organization and a community of arts education practitioners sharing information, providing professional development, and communicating with the public to promote our work in schools and beyond.

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) offers funding to support community-centered arts and culture projects and to recognize outstanding local artists. Applications are accepted from individual artists, artist collectives, and non-profit arts and community organizations for projects in a wide variety of disciplines, including dance, film/video/media, folk arts, interdisciplinary arts, literary arts, multi-disciplinary projects, music, opera, theater, visual arts/crafts, and others. Emerging and pre-professional artists, women, the disabled, artists of color, members of the LGBTQ community and other under-represented individuals or organizations are encouraged to apply.

Brooklyn Arts Council catalyzes human expression and creativity. We are a leader in building networks of artists and arts organizations that believe in the borough's creative vitality.

The mission of Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts (FCCA) is to present multi-disciplinary global arts that engage and educate the global communities of Queens, New York and New York City, New York, in order to foster mutual appreciation.

LMCC was founded in 1973 as Lower Manhattan Cultural Council with the belief that artists and communities are interconnected, each contributing to a more just, equitable, and sustainable society. For almost five decades, we have advanced our vision to serve, connect, and make space for artists and communities in NYC through programs that deepen artists' creative practice and afford them opportunities to share their process and work with local communities.

For nearly 30 years, Staten Island Arts has been providing funding to artists, collectives, and nonprofit organizations creating original work, producing cultural programming, and fostering arts education on Staten Island. Art History is an international, refereed journal that promotes world-class art-historical scholarship from across the globe. It publishes essays and critical reviews that foreground methodological self-reflexivity and highlights specific areas of concern and interest to the field through its special issue programme. It represents the diversity of the discipline at large and welcomes submissions from both established and emerging scholars. Art History stands at the forefront of disciplinary challenges and is a model of excellence for original and innovative research.

Art History Pedagogy & Practice (AHPP) is a peer-reviewed, open-access e-journal dedicated to advancing teaching and learning in art history. The journal provides a forum for scholarly discourse that articulates and presents the range of pedagogical methods for learners in formal, informal, and virtual learning environments. The journal welcomes single- and multi-authored works as well as fully collaborative digital and multi-modal projects. We encourage submissions from authors at all academic levels, including collaborative projects that include graduate and/or undergraduate students as contributing authors.

Based in New Haven at Yale University, the Asterisk* Journal of Art and Art History is one of the few peer-reviewed, intercollegiate art and art history journals at the undergraduate level. Our mission is to provide an outlet for critical discourse around art for undergraduates, whether it be through practice or theory. The journal’s name plays on the concept that we put an asterisk in traditional, art historical narratives to shed light on topics that are often left to the margins.

The Bowdoin Art Society, a student-run organization at Bowdoin College, is pleased to announce the sixth volume of an undergraduate journal for art historical research, the Bowdoin Journal of Art. It is one of only a few American and international academic art publications that feature the work of undergraduates. The Journal examines themes of traditional and contemporary art practice.

Thanks for checking out Dies Legibiles! We are the first undergraduate journal of Medieval Studies at Smith College, founded in 2020 by students Alexandra Domeshek and Gwen Ellis and overseen by Professor Joshua C. Birk. Our focus is the period 400–1500 CE. We accept submissions from any field: history, art, art history, language & translation, religion, and so on. We strongly encourage submissions of papers, translations, and book reviews pertaining to regions outside Western Christendom.

Digital America is an online journal that focuses on digital art and culture. The journal was founded in 2012 after a class at the University of Richmond (aptly titled “Digital America”) decided to toss the syllabus. Since that small act of academic rebellion, the journal has grown from a student-focused publication to a mature online arts journal with an international audience. Our team publishes issues biannually in November and April.

Founded in New York at Barnard College in 2015, the journal is published annually and includes critical writing and art made by undergraduates internationally. Connecting the ideas of students across institutions, the journal is also a network of young and established critics. While students create, review, and edit work for JAC, a group of alumni and professionals support production.

The Journal of Art History and Museum Studies (JAHMS) is a student-edited, undergraduate peer-reviewed journal, launching in Winter 2021 with its inaugural issue on the theme of “Art and Resilience.” Led by its student editorial board, JAHMS publishes issues online in the Fall and Spring academic terms and welcomes intercollegiate scholarly research of students across the globe.

Nota Bene is a peer-reviewed, open-access musicology journal developed by the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University Canada. It seeks to publish essays of a high critical and rhetorical standard, written by undergraduate students from universities around the world. Essays in historical musicology, ethnomusicology, popular music studies, music theory, music education, and interdisciplinary subjects with a focus on the above are invited.
