Whether posting or sharing on social media, reporting as journalists, or creating media in other roles, we are all taking part in the deliberative processes and creative activities that constitute what it means to make media. This section addresses the longstanding ethical considerations that creating media involves, such as bias, neutrality, and verification. It also confronts more contemporary concerns for media making such as generative AI products, open-source research, and deepfakes in the context of the creation, circulation, and propagation of misinformation.
